CrossOver Office

<v>CrossOver (auch: Crossover; vor Version 6.0: Crossover Office) ist ein Sammelbegriff für drei kommerzielle Wine-Versionen der Firma Codeweavers. Diese Programme beinhalten Crossover Mac, Crossover Linux und Crossover Games. Crossover war anfänglich besonders auf die Unterstützung von Microsoft Office-Software unter GNU/Linux ausgelegt, inzwischen wird aber eine Reihe weiterer Microsoft Windows-Software unterstützt.

Installation / Konfiguration

  • Herunterladen
  • Plazieren im Verzeichnis "/home/mik/tmp/new"
  • $ unrar x "[Linux]CodeWeavers.CrossOver.Office.&.Plugin.2.0.0.New.[Volume.Licenses].rar"
  • $ cd "CodeWeavers CrossOver Office & Plugin 2.0.0 New"
  • $ cd "CrossOver Office 2.0.0 [Volume Licenses]"
  • $ chmod u+x install-crossover-office-2.0.0.sh
  • $ ./install-crossover-office-2.0.0.sh
  • Lizenzabkommen: Ich stimme zu

Herunterladen des Internet Explorer-Installers

Als nächstes gibt man unter Start - Ausführen folgendes ein (inkl. "). 

"E:\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"

(Pfad und Dateiname anpassen!) und drückt die Enter-Taste.

Danach erscheint das Fenster mit dem Endbenutzer-Lizenzvertrag den man akzeptieren muss, um das Herunterladen starten zu können.

Stimmt man diesem zu und klickt auf Weiter, erscheint das Fenster mit den Übertragungsoptionen. Will man den IE für mehrere Betriebssysteme runter laden, setzt man einen Haken bei der Auswahl. Hier gibt man auch das Verzeichnis an in welchem die Installationsdateien gespeichert werden sollen. Vergewissere Dich das genug Speicherplatz vorhanden ist.

Sind die Installationsdateien übertragen, kann man mit der Installation beginnen oder falls man den IE auf mehreren Rechner installieren will, kann man die Installationsdateien auf eine CD-ROM brennen oder sonst wie verteilen.

Die Installation startet man mit Doppelklick auf die "ie6setup.exe".

Für die Installation unter Crossover Office wird ebenso "DCOM95.exe" benötigt.

Löschen folgender Ordner:

  • /opt/cxoffice/support/dotwine/fake_windows/Programe/Microsoft Office/Clipart
    • C:\Programme\Microsoft Office\Office\Bitmaps
    • C:\Programme\Microsoft Office\Office\Images

Start > Programme > Word

  • Ansicht > Normal
  • Format > Zeichen > Schrift
    • Schriftart: Arial
    • Schriftgrad: 10
    • Standard...
  • Extras > Autokorrektur: alle Kästchen deaktivieren
  • Extras > Anpassen > Befehle
    • Datei: Schliessen
    • Datei: Speichern unter
    • Bearbeiten: Suchen
    • Fenster: Nächstes Fenster
    • Entfernung unerwünschter Schaltflächen
  • Extras > Anpassen > Optionen
    • O Standard- und Formatsymbolleiste teilen sich eine Zeile
    • O Menüs zeigen zuletzt verwendete Befehle zuerst an
    • O Nach kurzer Verzögerung vollständige Menüs anzeigen
  • Extras > Optionen > Ansicht
    • O Animierter Text
  • Extras > Optionen > Allgemein
    • O Feedback mit Animation
    • X Liste zuletzt geöffneter Dateien: 9 Einträge
  • Extras > Optionen > Bearbeiten
    • O Wörter automatisch markieren
    • O Ausschneiden und Einfügen mit Leerzeichenausgleich
  • Extras > Optionen > Speichern
    • X Schnellspeicherung zulassen

== Installation ==

The first thing to remember if you've downloaded the installation script like I did, is to make sure and set that script as executable:
  $ chmod u+x scriptname

After this:
  $ ./install-cross[Tab]

The download file has a very long name - - and the opening dialog box (Figure 1) appears. 

click Begin Install

The installer creates directories, adds files, and so on
 
== Konfiguration ==

click Configure Now

Right now, the setup section tells me that I don't have MS Office or Lotus Notes installed, nor do I have the selection of TrueType fonts that come along with this combination. I put my Microsoft Office 2000 CD-ROM into my CD-ROM drive, make sure Microsoft Office is selected in the setup window, and then click the Add button to open the dialog box shown in Figure 5. 

I leave the default of CD-ROM and click OK to proceed, MS Office 2000 initial installation screen custom installation option alter the defaults a bit though I leave the install location in the default position within the virtual drive CrossOver Office set up installation takes a while click No to whether I want to reboot now or not. 

Once the simulated reboot finishes, the MS Office 2000 installation proceeds. When I reach the Windows Update dialog box the process seems to halt, and I sit watching to see whether the installer crashed or is just working behind the scenes. Sure enough, it was just quietly busy. Installation Report dialog box shown in Figure 8. 

the checkboxes I'm seeing in the Installation Report dialog box to be elsewhere. Once I take a moment to orient myself I set up the MIME associations, only letting the Windows software automatically open its own file types (my own personal preference). click OK, I'm back to the main CrossOver Office 1.0.0 Setup screen this time Microsoft Office is listed as installed click Finish to close the Setup dialog box

== Verwendung ==

No icons included on the desktop or in the menus to start any of the MS Office programs CodeWeavers includes scripts to use, as described in the manual--though the default directory is cxoffice, not crossover type "~/cxoffice/bin/winword" and lo and behold, there's Microsoft Word (Figure 9). 

Little buttons on the bottom left that allow me to change between views (Layout, Normal, and so on) usual start is to make a document so I type in some text "Ctrl s" to save. Save As dialog box appears with a default location of the My Documents folder (like in Windows).

Find my Word document, it's in "~/cxoffice/support/dotwine/fake_windows/My Documents". FTP the document over to my Windows 2000 Professional box and double-click it in the file manager The associations under Windows are correct

FTP it back over to the Linux box with CrossOver Office 1.0.0 on it open up the file (~/cxoffice/bin/winword "This is my new document 2.doc")
