Summary | Stella (Marianne Therien), the ex-wife of Nick Girard (Charles Powell), has been shot two years ago with a gun not manufactured at the time of her death... Nick however marries Catherine (Charlotte Gainsbourg) who he has met shortly before. They move in his beautiful loft that he originally bought with Stella. Catherine has the feeling of being an intruder in someone else's space. Her insecurity and paranoia increase when she begins to find mysterious lipstick stains on the mirror, and another woman's hair in her hairbrush. But when she is attacked by an unseen assailant, her suspicion starts to fall on those around her. In the same building lives Beatrice Muller (Nastassja KinskI), a successful art dealer who it turns out, had more than a passing interest in both Nick and his previous wife. Charlie (John Hannah), a creative mathematician and computer wizard that lives in the building too, is Nick's best friend. He is busy pursuing his personal dream - exploring the possibi
lities of two time frames co-existing, of the past and present sharing the same space. Catherine, increasingly unsure of her own sanity after the strange goings-on in the block, calls on him to help her investigate. Daisy (Molly Parker) is Catherine's only other closest friend. She stays over at the apartment with her to keep her company, when Catherine's paranoia sets in... if Stella is dead how is it possible that new entries are appearing in her diary, in her own hand? Could past and present be merging, or is there a logical explanation after all? |
