Der Universal Serial Bus / USB ist ein serieller Bus zur Verbindung eines Rechners mit externen Geräten. Mit USB ausgestattete Geräte oder Datenspeicher können im laufenden Betrieb miteinander verbunden (Hot-Plugging) und angeschlossene Geräte und deren Eigenschaften automatisch erkannt werden.

Die Variante USB 2.0 bietet eine theoretische Datenrate von 60 MB/s und ist Plug&Play-fähig.
