<b>Phil Trim</b> ist afroamerikanischer Abstammung und wuchs im westindischen Staat Trinidad und Tobago auf. Er war Mitglied der <b>Trinidad Steel Band</b> und von 1967-1974 Sänger bei der Gruppe <b>[[Pop Tops]]</b>, die mit "Mamy Blue" (1971) ihren grössten Hit hatte. Danach begann er eine nicht sehr erfolgreiche Solokarriere.
