Foolhouse etwa 2008

Die Geschichte von Foolhouse ist etwas verworren... offenbar spielten Jürg Reinhardt, Christoph Vogt und Andrew Krähenbühl aus Kirchberg / BE bereits 1981 zusammen. Betreffend der damaligen Bandgründung meinte Reinhard später: "Um ehrlich zu sein, es standen hauptsächlich andere als musikalische Gründe im Vordergrund..." Jedenfalls spielten Reinhardt und Vogt 1985 bei der Gruppe Rock Zirkus aus Bern wieder zusammen.

1987 gründeten sie die eigene Rockgruppe Full House, die jedoch bald in Foolhouse umbenannt wurde - mit dabei war auch Andrew Krähenbühl, später kam noch Ronnie Hoffmann (ex-Why) dazu. In dieser Besetzung wurde das zweite Album Running on soft ground (1988) teilweise in Miami (Florida, USA) eingespielt und enthielt mit der Single One good reason sogar einen kleinen Hit (CH #25). Daraufhin folgten zahlreiche Konzerte und das dritte Album Bite the dust (1990). Es folgten weitere Konzerte, darunter eine erfolgreichen Deutschland-Tournee im Vorprogramm von Mitch Ryder (30 Konzerte in 32 Tagen). Sänger Reinhard wurde 1992 gar eingeladen, um mit Mitch Ryder das Lied "In her genes" für das Album La Gash aufzunehmen.

Nach der Tournee mit Mitch Ryder verliess Krähenbühl die Gruppe, für ihn kam kurzzeitig Dani Crivelli. Bald darauf verliess auch Dani Lehmann die Gruppe, die darauf durch Ruzz Kelly (Schlagzeug) und Robbie Maurer verstärkt wurde. Zwar wurde noch ein viertes Album, Double dealer (1991), veröffentlicht und es wurden auch weitere Konzerte gegeben - darunter drei Auftritte im Vorprogramm von Joe Cocker, ausserdem solche für Ten Years After, Dr. Feelgood, Bryan Adams, Molly Hatchet, Züri West, Polo Hofer und Wishbone Ash. Danach war aber ab etwa 1992 erstmal Sense.

  • Rolf Balsiger spielte bei den Boogie Fools, bei The Big Red One, bei Andy and the Real und bei der Eliot Band.
  • Daniel Lehmann spielte ab 1992 bei den Atomic Turkeys.
  • Jürg O. Reinhard (ex-Boogie Fools, ex-Rainheart) war ab 1996 Sänger bei Harry's Gallery.

Etwa 2005 fanden einige der ehemaligen Gruppenmitglieder wieder zusammen und musizieren seither mit weiteren Musikern unter dem alten Namen.
