Der Film Ma femme est une actrice (2001) ist die vierte Zusammenarbeit von Yvan Attal mit seiner Lebensgefährtin Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Bereits 1997 hatte Yvan Attal den Kurzfilm I got a woman über dasselbe Thema gedreht. Die Szenen dieses Films wurden vollständig in den Film Ma femme est une actrice (2001) übernommen. Yvan Attal über das Thema des Films:

"Il m'est arrivé dans ma courte carrière d'acteur d'avoir à tourner quelques scènes d'amour. Quand on passe sa journée au lit, nu, avec une actrice, à l'embrasser, la caresser, c'est toujours un peu bizarre de rentrer à la maison le soir et de dîner normalement avec sa propre femme. Même si tout est faux, tout, ou à peu près tout est quand même pour de vrai."

Die Eltern von Yvan Attal und Noémie Lvovsky im Film werden von zwei Verwandten von Yvan Attal gespielt. So geben Annette Hazanavicius (die Mutter von Serge Hazanavicius) und Jean Abelanski (der Vater von Lionel Abelanski) bei dieser Gelegenheit ihr Filmdebüt.

Yvan (Yvan Attal) ist mit der erfolgreichen Schauspielerin Charlotte (Charlotte Gainsbourg) verheiratet.
