Entstehungsgeschichte

Danièle Thompson während den Dreharbeiten zum Film La bûche (1999)

Der Film La bûche (1999) ist das Debüt der französischen Regiseurin Danièle Thompson, die zusammen mit ihrem Sohn Christopher auch das Drehbuch dazu geschrieben hat.

Die Regisseurin Danièle Thompson im Pressetext zum Film:

"J'ai fait ce que j'ai voulu, comme je l'ai voulu. C'est 'mon' film. J'en suis encore toute ébahie! Pour la première fois, je n'aurai pas ce sentiment de succès ou d’échec par procuration, planquée derrière mon bureau, déjà en train d'écrire un autre film pour un autre metteur en scène. Je l'ai vécu et c'est formidable. Le cadre, la lumière, les mouvements, le rythme, les acteurs... Ah les acteurs! Je savais combien je les admirais. J'y pensais souvent, leur mystère, leur fragilité, leur puissance. Je me disais que si un jour... et puis ce jour est arrivé: ils étaient à moi, enfin. Nous devenions à chaque prise ce couple passionné quand l'un veut faire du bien à l'autre, même parfois malgré lui. J'ai découvert à quel point ils m'avaient manqué pendant toutes ces années où je travaillais dans l'imaginaire. J'écrivais ce qu'ils diraient, mais comment le diraient-ils? A quel rythme? Mon obsession. Comment bougeraient-ils, où seraient-ils, loin, près de la caméra? Et là, pour la première fois, je n'ai pas donné l'enfant à l'adoption."

"J'ai abordé ce film sans appréhension et sans me poser de questions. C'a été une vraie partie de plaisir. Peut-être aussi parce que je n'avais pas le rôle principal? En-tout cas, là, la pression n'était pas sur moi. J'adore ce rôle et je suis reconnaissante à Danièle Thompson de m'avoir fait confiance sur un personnage qui n'était pas forcémént pour moi au départ. Et puis il y a eu toutes les belles rencontres que j'ai faites sur le plateau: Christopher, Sabine, Emmanuelle, Claude Rich... Cette aventure s'est vraiment déroulée dans la joie. J'ai redécouvert aussi ce qu'était une sortie de film, les interviews faciles, parce que l'on sent que ça marche, le succès... Et oui, cela faisait longtemps que je n'avais pas été dans un film a succès. J'avais presque oublié ce que c'était!"

Handlung

Für Yvette (Françoise Fabian) beginnen die Weihnachtsfesttage traurig: Ihr (zweiter) Mann stirbt. Sie will ihre drei Töchter aus ihrer ersten Ehe mit dem Zigeunergeiger Stanislas (Claude Rich) wiedersehen. Die 42-jährige Louba (Sabine Azéma) ist die älteste ihrer drei Töchter. Sie lebt mit ihrem Vater Stanislas, verdient ihren Lebensunterhalt als russische Sängerin und unterrichtet Russisch. Kein Wunder ist sie dauernd knapp bei Kasse. Und dann ist da noch Gilbert (Jean-Pierre Darroussin), seit 12 Jahren ihr (verheirateter) Liebhaber, von dem sie ein Kind erwartet. Sonia (Emmanuelle Béart) lebt mit ihrem Ehemann Pierre (Samuel Labarthe) und ihren Kindern ein scheinbar glückliches und wohlhabendes Leben, doch in der Ehe haperts: Sonia nutzt das bevorstehende Festmahl als Ablenkung ihrer Probleme. Schon Wochen im voraus plant sie jedes Detail, um nur alles wieder umplanen zu müssen. Milla Robin (Charlotte Gainsbourg), die Jüngste der drei Geschwister, ist das pure Gegenteil von Sonia: Jung, unabhängig, frei. Und doch, irgendwie alleine... Die Weihnachtshysterie macht ihr zu schaffen: Wie andere, die über's Jahr hinweg gut mit ihrer Einsamkeit fertig werden, wird sie an Weihnachten gezwungen, Bilanz zu ziehen: Über ihr Liebesleben, über ihre grandiose Karriere... Für die Familie wird das Fest der Freude zum Fest der Geständnisse. Geständnisse, die besser ungesagt blieben...
